On that note, it may be more efficient for you to try to diminish the popularity of a singular influential character that is becoming disloyal rather than securing their loyalty and it is good to make sure the heir of your faction will be keeping busy like your faction leader as well to avoid loyalty difficulties if they end up becoming in charge while having low influence. If their influence is too low, other more influential characters will lose loyalty. Make sure your faction leader is doing something, be it fighting battles or acting as a governor to help them gain influence to therefore keep your faction's characters in line.
Sanitation is seriously important and you shouldn't be taking a chance with a low chance of diseases occurring in a province - Murphy's Law says they'll totally happen when you really don't want them to. No matter how much excess food other provinces may have, it can never help your other provinces and so you should more or less never have buildings which will consume more food in a province than it produces.
